When?

Friday, September 21  5 a.m. – 7 p.m.

How to Help

  • Cash or check to “Red Cross”
  • Add donation to your Kroger purchase
  • redcross.org
  • 1-800-RED CROSS
  • Text HARVEY TO 90999 to make a $10 donation

Kroger grocery stores across the southeast are working together to raise money for Hurricane Harvey victims, which means you can make a donation at any Kroger store. The WHNT News 19 team will be stationed at the store on Drake to accept donations.

Kroger has also donated $100,000 to Houston Food Bank.

$3 = comfort kit $6 = blanket $10 = hot meal $150 = one day food and shelter to a family of four

As stated above, we are only accepting monetary donations. We will not accept food, clothing or other items. Items like that take time to sort as well as money to transport, clean and store. The Red Cross has made it very clear to us that, from this far away, money donations are the most help.

Now, we know that not everyone will want to donate to the American Red Cross. The Alabama Broadcasters Association has provided a list of other reputable organizations you might want to consider for donations. You would have to donate to them directly.
