Lynyrd Skynyrd's Farewell Continues As Band Adds More Tour Dates

SiriusXM Presents Lynyrd Skynyrd Live At The Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta

Lynyrd Skynyrd remains committed to its goal of bringing its farewell tour to every city and every venue the band as ever played, and then some, before the end.

On Tuesday, the band officially announced the tour's continuation into the summer of 2020 with 16 new U.S. concerts dates, along with some previously advertised shows.

Tickets for the newly added U.S. dates (which you can see below) go on sale Friday, December 6, at 10 a.m. local time. Citi cardmembers have access to presale tickets, starting Wednesday, December 4 at 10 a.m. local time.

Skynyrd will be joined on select dates by the Eli Young Band and Travis Tritt.

Longtime Skynyrd frontman Johnny Van Zant acknowledged in a November interview that while the 'Last of the Street Survivors' tour has indeed been going on a long time, the band isn't staying out for months on end for each leg of the tour.

"I've said it myself, 'God, they're still on their farewell tour?'" Van Zant told Q104.3 New York's Jim Kerr and Shelli Sonstein. "But when you do like 50, 60 shows a year, you don't cover a lot of ground."

He added that before the band left Europe last year, fans were already asking them to come back or if they would visit a country they missed on the initial run.

Skynyrd still doesn't know when the tour will conclude. Van Zant said it could be the "end of [2020]," but the band has a lot of opportunities to consider before it books a final show.
