Neil Young Announces Live Double Album And Film, 'Noise And Flowers'

Neil Young in prepping a new live double album and corresponding film called Noise and Flowers that features material from his 2019 European tour with backing band Promise of the Real. Young hit the road just over a week after the death of his longtime manager, Elliot Roberts, and the tour was dedicated to him.

"[My wife Daryl Hannah] and I were on the bus, on our way to New York to catch a plane to Europe, when we got the call," Young wrote on his website. "After returning to the funeral for our beloved Elliot, we got on the plane and left for the tour. During the tour, we had a poster of Elliot on a road case, right where he always stood during our shows. Everyone who was with us felt that this tour was amazing for its great vibe. The Real and I delivered for Elliot. [Noise and Flowers] is truly a great collection, dripping with the soul of our band as we played for our fallen leader."

Though a tracklist and release date has yet to be announced, Young hopes to release Noise and Flowers in "2021, probably early."

Young plans to take part in Willie Nelson's virtual Farm Aid on Saturday 26. See who else is on the lineup here.
